Seit der Version 3.7 kann WordPress automatisch updates im Hintergrund durchführen. Bei einigen meiner Blogs funktioniert dies. Es kommt die Nachricht:
Bei anderen Blogs kommt die Nachricht: „Diese Website ist nicht in der Lage, diese Aktualisierungen automatisch auszuführen….“.
Daraufhin habe ich das Plugin „Background Update Tester“ installiert. Dieses überprüft im Dashboard, ob der automatische Update funktionieren kann und gibt entsprechende Hinweise.
Bei mir lag es an nicht ausreichenden Schreibrechten auf die Files. Nach dem ich alle Files der WordPress Installation mit entsprechenden Schreibrechten versehen hatte, klappte es.
Haha: daran lag es nicht:
- PASS: Your WordPress install can communicate with WordPress.org securely.
- PASS: No version control systems were detected.
- FAIL: Your installation of WordPress prompts for FTP credentials to perform updates. (Your site is performing updates over FTP due to file ownership. Talk to your hosting company.)
